How this all began…

My first real Plumbing work began back in 1984, at the Ellicott Square Building in downtown Buffalo, New York.  I was a Porter, meaning from one day to the next, I could be helping any number of Tradesman.  The building Plumber was an alcoholic, and a Mean one at that.  One day, he pissed off the wrong Secretary being a sexist pig, so he was fired.  I was given his rolling Repair Cart, told to organize IT, and then beginning on the 10th and top floor, began rebuilding every Kohler Lavatory Sink Faucet and Drain, every Toilet and Urinal Sloan Flush Valve, getting advice and help as needed from the building’s Stationary Engineer and learning how to use the associated Hand Tools.
